Personal Requirements
- Applicants must be 17 years of age (a Ministry of Education requirement).
- You must have experience with pre-school aged children.
- You must have no convictions for crimes against children.
- Ideally you must have a Full Drivers Licence.
- Each Nanny also needs current knowledge of First Aid. If you do not hold a First Aid Certificate we will pay for you to complete this training. The courses are taken by a qualified instructor and you need to give your own time freely to attend. You then need to renew your first aid training every two years.
- If you will be working in Christchurch and don't hold an early childhood qualification then we may pay for you to complete a correspondence course through the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. The course is part time and practical and can start once you have secured a permanent position. Nannies have three months to complete the training once they start a position.
